This weekend, CLP will be tabling at PIX: The Pittsburgh Indy Comics Expo. We’ll join lots of local comics creators and publishers as part of “Pittsburgh’s first ever exposition devoted solely to creator-owned, self-published, smallpress, and handmade comics.” Pittsburgh’s new Toonseum is presenting the event, and local comics shop The Copacetic Comics Company (whose website is a haven for indie comics fans) is overseeing it.
Guests speaking at the Expo include creators whose work is also represented in CLP’s graphic novel collections, like Kevin Huizenga, Ed Piskor, Rob Rogers, Jim Rugg, Frank Santoro and Tom Scioli. Another guest, Don Simpson, is the subject of the Toonseum’s current exhibit, Pictopia.
PIX is free and open to the public and takes place on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Guardian Storage facility at 2839 Liberty Avenue in the Strip District.
