Here we are on April 1st, with the traditional April Fool’s Day post. It was suggested to me that I go all out and write a totally fake post about some truly impossible library service (librarians will write your papers for you, or we’ll come to your house and classify everything in it, from your books to your house pets), but I decided to take a different track. Today’s post is inspired by unlikely and unusual book titles, the kinds of things that would win The Bookseller magazine’s Diagram Prize, awarded yearly to the oddest of the odd.
Listed below are twelve book titles suggested by the Eleventh Stack crew – six are real books, and six are fake titles created by us especially for April Fool’s Day. Are you more clever and more well-read than we are? Can you choose the real titles without resorting to our catalog or to Amazon? Test your luck and pick your brains with our Ten Step Eleventh Stack Twelve Title Fictional and Nonfictional Fiction and Nonfiction Book Title Challenge!
Winners will receive a grand sense of accomplishment and a free library card (with proper identification). Knock yourselves out!
